William J.A. Miller, 86, of Sarasota, FL, and most recently of Goshen, passed away peacefully at 9:13 pm, on Thursday, May 26 in the home of his daughter. He was born on May 3, 1936, in Middlebury, to Joe and Anna (Miller) Miller. On May 30, 1957, in Middlebury, he married Lydiann Bontrager, she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Juanita (Ken) Miller of Sarasota, FL, Marilyn (Vern) Hostetler of Goshen; son, LaVon (Marty) Miller of Middlebury; nine grandchildren, Scott (Charity) Miller, Eric (Jen) Miller, Shandra (Nathan) McCracken, Kayla (Michael) Johnson, Josh (girlfriend Kristen Hardie) Hostetler, Austin (Alyssa) Hostetler, Ashley Miller, Katie (Zac) Klopfenstein, Todd (Sophia) Miller; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Harvey (Leanna) Miller of Sarasota, FL; sister, Esther (Reuben) Miller of Atmore, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kenneth Miller; sister, Elizabeth Miller; brother, Harley Miller. William was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Sarasota, FL. He was a cabinet maker by trade for 32 years and upon retirement he drove for a limo service for 14 years, which brought him much enjoyment. He loved to mow grass and sit in his garage and visit with the neighbors as they came by while walking their dogs. The dogs knew him as "Mr. Bill." Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 29 at Siloam Fellowship, Goshen. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:30 funeral service on Monday, May 30 also at the church. Services will be conducted by son-in-law and Pastor Vern Hostetler. Burial will be in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Gospel Echoes.
