Vivian J. Murray, 96, of Goshen, died at 4:30 am, on Monday, May 9 at her residence. She was born on March 11, 1926, in Jackson, MN, to Noah E. and Ethel L. (Garber) Landis. On June 15, 1948, in Alpha, MN she married Franklin L. Murray, he died November 12, 2004. Surviving are daughter, Colleen K. (Steven) Sanders of Penfield, NY; two sons, Richard Murray of Liverpool, NY, Paul Murray of East Syracuse, NY; granddaughter, Kate (Michael) Margitus; two great-grandchildren, Weston and Britta Margitus; sister, Berniece Nafzinger of Litchfield Park, AZ; brother, Fred (Joyce) Landis of Motley, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Murray; three sisters, Ruth Erb, Wilma Landis, Bonita Driver; four brothers, Eldon Landis, Paul Landis, Richard Landis, Elmer Landis. Vivian was a homemaker and previously a member of College Mennonite Church. She loved to sew and cook and made great cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed volunteering at Greencroft and had a very gentle and giving spirit. A memorial service will take place at 3:30 pm on Thursday, May 12 at Evergreen West Chapel at Greencroft in Goshen. Services will be conducted by Chaplain Laura Moshier. Burial will be at a later date in Good Cemetery, Clarence Center, NY. Memorials may be given to MCC.
