Viola (Schrock) Yoder

November 12, 1944 ~ January 19, 2022 (age 77)


Viola Yoder, 77, of Shipshewana, formerly of Sarasota FL., died at 12:30 am on Wednesday, January 19, at her daughter’s residence in Howe. She was born on November 12, 1944 in Nappanee to Urias J. and Elizabeth (Chupp) Schrock. On September 9, 1965 in Topeka, she married Richard D.  Yoder, he died November 11, 2004. Surviving are daughter, Althea (John) Hochstetler of Howe; five sons, LaMar (Patty) Yoder of Sarasota, FL, Leon (Angela) Yoder of Valentine, Dean (Lisa) Yoder of Fremont, Dale (Debbie) Yoder of Wolcottville, Kenny (Diana) Yoder of Fremont; 27 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Mary (Edward, deceased) Hochstetler of Topeka; three brothers, Marvin U. (Catherine) Schrock of Wolcottville, Urias J. (Mary) Schrock, Jr. of LaGrange, Henry L. Schrock of Bristol. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Wilma Schrock, and Alma Mast; three brothers, Joe, Harvey and Clarence Schrock. Viola was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 20, and 10:00 am - 8:00 pm on Friday, January 21, at the Orland Miller residence, 3590 North State Rd. 5 Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, January 22, at the same residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Jerry Miller and the home ministers. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.
