Thomas E. Reardon, 80, of Middlebury, passed away at 4:23 pm on Wednesday, September 1, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. His death was very unexpected and was due to natural causes. He was born on September 13, 1940 in Rutland City, VT, to Fred and Louise (Chafee) Reardon. Surviving is a daughter, Ranae (Jack) Thrasher of Middlebury; three sons, Thomas "Tommy" A. (Paula) Reardon of Kokomo, Tim (Jackie) Reardon of Edwardsburg, MI, Terry "Runt-Bear" Reardon of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Velma Reardon; a son, Rodney Thomas; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Reardon. Thomas had done a variety of work through his lifetime, including woodworking and road and pipeline construction. He was a US Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam, he was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1152, Kokomo and the American Legion, Post 210 Middlebury. He enjoyed watching old war movies and western movies, especially if they had John Wayne in them. He also enjoyed going to stock car races and camping with his family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
