Obituary

Saraetta Miller, 87, of Shipshewana, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by her children, at 9:05 am on Sunday, May 15, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. She was born on February 4, 1935, in Defiance, OH, to Crist and Sarah (Schrock) Miller. On September 17, 1955, in LaGrange, she married Manas D. Miller, he passed away December 5, 2015. Surviving are daughter, Sandy (Phil) Mast of Shipshewana; son, Jeremy (Jen Taflinger) Miller of Middlebury; four grandchildren, Tanner Mast, Dylan Mast, Blane Miller, and Macsen Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Ida Lambright and Mary Miller; four brothers, Ralph, Ben, Elmer and Crist Miller, Jr. Saretta was a homemaker, avid golfer and a member of Emma Church. She had also worked for the Westview School District for over 20 years, mostly in the cafeteria.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 21, at Emma Church, 1900 South 600 West Topeka. A funeral service will follow visitation beginning at 1:00 pm also on Saturday at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Gene Hartman. Burial will be in Keightley Cemetery, Shipshewana. Memorials may be given to Emma Church.
