Roy D. Frank, Sr., 82, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully at his residence, while surrounded by his family at 1:35 am on Sunday, May 23, after an extended illness. He was born on August 3, 1938 in East Peoria, IL, to Benjamin and Hildred (Ames) Frank. On July 27, 1958 in Clinton Frame Church, he married Dorothy Miller, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Roy (Debra) Frank, Jr. of Goshen, Jeff Frank of Goshen, Gary (Stephanie) Frank of Highland, MD; three daughters, Yolanda (Bret) Vollmer of Carlock, IL, Sandra "Sam" (Bob) Derr of Middlebury, Stacy (Greg) Maxwell of Elkhart; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; five brothers, Dave (Iris) Frank of Morton, IL, Jerry (Bev) Frank of Eureka, IL, Edwin Frank of East Peoria, IL, Alvin Frank of Naperville, IL, Bob (Carol) Frank of East Peoria, IL; two sisters, Mary Lewis of East Peoria, IL, Ruth Kerr of Roanoke, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wilburt Frank; two sisters, Jean Smith and Donna Frank; and a grandson, George Robert Derr, III. Roy had worked in local area factories for most of his life and then became self-employed owning and operating Roy's Heating and Electric. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and could often be found mowing his yard and gardening. He had attended Clinton Frame Church. The family will hold private funeral services on Saturday, May 29, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. Burial will be in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
