Rae Ann Markley, 87, of Middlebury, died at 5:15 pm on Thursday, June 3, at Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange. She was born on February 8, 1934, in Goshen, to Clarence and Mildred (Gohn) Fike. She married David Weaver in 1954; she then married Jim Markley, who survives in Pioneer, OH. Surviving are daughter, Anna (Ben) Yoder of Sturgis, MI; six grandchildren, Mike Weaver, Ed (Emily) Weaver, Erin Weaver, Monica Weaver, Mallory Weaver, McKenzie (Dulton) Keegan; three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Audry and Lane Weaver. She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents; daughter, Rhonda Weaver; two sons, Eric Weaver, Kirk Weaver; brother, Gary Fike. Rae worked for a doctor in Michigan for several years and upon returning to Middlebury she opened and operated Heritage House of Antiques. She also volunteered for Hospice Care at home. She enjoyed reading, loved her Shih-tzu's and watching sports, especially IU football and basketball and Northridge High School basketball. She also enjoyed attending the pony races in the area. Some of her most fun years were spent at IU Bloomington before she got married. Family and friends may gather at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 7 for a graveside service at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ron Russell.
