Mary A. Frye, 89, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt died at 3:55 pm on Friday, June 10 at her son Keith's residence in Middlebury. She had been in declining health the past 3 1/2 months. Mary was born February 22, 1933, in LaGrange County, to Jonas and Amanda (Stutzman) Miller, and was the fifth of seven children. She had lived most of her life in the Middlebury area and three years in Holmes County, Ohio. On May 31, 1958, she married Noah H. Frye at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2021. Survivors include two sons, Keith Grant (Peggy) Frye and Kerry Wayne (Tina) Frye both of Middlebury; five grandchildren, Jenson, Brenna (Swope), Steven, Grant, and Nicole Frye. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Katie Rheinheimer and Betty Yoder; four brothers, LeRoy, Dennis, Jonas Jr., and Joe Miller. Mary had been an active member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. She loved sewing, quilting, and making comforters for MCC. Mary waitressed 30 years at the Shipshewana Auction Barn Restaurant, where she never knew a stranger! Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 pm on Monday, June 13 at the First Mennonite Church, 203 E. Lawrence in Middlebury. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Phil Yoder. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
