Lance J Dell, 50, of Middlebury passed away at 10:35 pm on Sunday, June 20, at Goshen Health Hospital, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born on May 23, 1971 in Churubusco. On June 15, 1996 in Goshen he married Larisa Schrock, she survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters, Emily (fiancé Micah Focht) Dell, Kyrah Anne Dell, and Leah Kristine Dell all at home; parents, Phyllis and Edward VanKirk; brother, Brad (Donna) Dell of Churubusco; sister, Susan (Don) Hull of Sturgis, MI. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry J Dell and a brother, Michael Dell. Lance had worked in the IT field for over 20 years working mainly as a manager. He was attending Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church and enjoyed woodworking and spending time on the computer. He had served as a Ranger in the 82nd Airborne from 1991-1995. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 23, at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, 61115 State Rd. 15 Goshen. A private graveside service will be held prior to the 3:00 pm memorial service on Thursday, June 24, also at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Josh Hilty. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorials may be given to Faith Mission.
