Ethan Michael Baker, 17, of Middlebury, passed away from suicide early Monday morning, August 23, at his residence. He was born on May 22, 2004 in Mishawaka to David and Jennifer (Kennedy) Baker. He is survived by his mother Jennifer Kennedy of South Bend; his father, David Baker of Middlebury; a brother, Anthony Baker; a sister, Jamica Baker-Kennedy; niece, La'mia House; grandmothers, Joyce Robinson and Cheryl (Robert) Fenters. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Patrick Robinson and William Thacker. Ethan had attended Fremont High School as a freshman where he began to wrestle and play football; he then continued to be active in both sports after transferring to Northridge High School where he was currently a senior. He was currently in the second year Diesel Mechanic Certification Program at Elkhart Career Center. He was known for always being on the go; enjoying fishing, camping, motorcycles, spending time outside, listening to music and he was an animal lover, especially for his dog Smokey. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 28, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. Funeral services will follow visitation beginning at 12:00 noon also on Saturday. Services will be conducted by Pastor Mike Griggs. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
