Aubrey Lee Smith, 84, of Bristol, formerly of Middlebury, died at 6:24 pm on Saturday, July 23 at Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange. He was born on October 18, 1937, in Florence, AL, to Delmer and Nettie Smith. On May 1, 1961, in Chicago, IL, he married Linda Marie Roebke, she survives in Elkhart. Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Tommy (Jean) Smith of Elkhart, Danny (Karen) Smith of LaGrange, John Smith of Bristol; daughter, Diana (John Jr.) Creech of New Carlisle; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Burlan Smith of Ardmore, TN, Delmer Smith, Jr. of AL; sister, Virginia Manley of Elkhart; two half-brothers, Jessie (Brenda) Foster of Jasper, AL, Tommy Wayne Foster of Sheffield, AL; half-sister, Mary Ann of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ruth Yoder; two sons, David Smith, Aubrey Oneal Smith; brother, Cecil Ray Smith. Aubrey worked in the maintenance department at Carpenter Co. in Elkhart. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, fishing and was always on the go. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Friday, July 29 at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. A graveside service will follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
