Alice M. Kohlmeyer Swank, 90, of Middlebury, died at 4:45 am, on Sunday, April 17, at Goshen Health Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born on May 31, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Walter and Alice (Deithorn) Windgassen. On June 15, 1950, she married James Kohlmeyer, he preceded her in death on July 14, 1987. On November 26, 1994, she married Scott Swank, he preceded her in death on September 17, 2005. Surviving is a son, William (Cathy) Kohlmeyer of Corbin, KY; daughter, Debra (Bill) Gilson of Middlebury; two stepdaughters, Janet Sue (Bill) Kinney of Goshen, Vicki Lee (Floyd) Boling of Goshen; 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gayle Kohlmeyer of Bristol. She was preceded in death by parents; both husbands; two sons, James and Ronald Kohlmeyer; a stepson, Michael L. Swank; two daughters, Linda Quigley and Ruth Toothman; two brothers and four sisters. Alice was a member of Ladies of the Moose in Goshen. She worked ten years at Johnson Controls, Goshen in the canteen, at different local factories and was a homemaker. She loved crocheting, flowers, flower gardening and watching birds especially cardinals. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Wednesday April 20, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. Funeral services will follow visitation starting at 2:00 pm also on Wednesday at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor John Ware. Burial will be in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen.
